Conclusion:

After completing the task of the Wheelchair activity, students should have obtained a general knowledge of the usuage of Ratios and the Pythagoreom theorem. The students' worksheets should be completed with diagrams and equations that have helped them to solve the problem at hand. Students should have a better understanding of the ADA, and requirments of wheelchair ramps. Students should also realize the importance of having a wheelchair ramp available at public locations.

Students should think about the following questions upon completion of their activity:

  • Do you think the activity would have been more difficult if the ramp was not straight, and had a bend in it?
  • If so how?
  • And what other mathematical equations would you use to figure out the problem?
  • Are there any other factors that were not taken into account in this project?

Thanks to your hard work, your new school will open in a few weeks! Congratulations!
